Mentorship Workshop Series
AVAC Youth Sports & Mentorship (AYSM) Workshop Series is a cohort-style youth development program designed to foster creativity, personal growth, confidence, leadership, and positive decision-making. By bringing youth together in a supportive group environment, the program encourages participants to learn from mentors, engage with their peers, explore new ideas, and develop skills that can contribute to their personal, academic, and social development.
Through interactive workshops, guided discussions, team-building exercises, and group activities, participants will explore topics such as mindfulness, communication, conflict resolution, healthy decision-making, nutrition basics, goal setting, leadership, civic engagement, and community involvement. Workshops are designed to help youth strengthen self-awareness, learn constructive ways to navigate everyday challenges, communicate effectively, and understand the importance of accountability and working collaboratively with others.
The goal of the AYSM Workshop Series is to provide young people with practical, age-appropriate tools they can apply beyond the program, at home, at school, on the basketball court, and throughout their communities. Participants are encouraged to identify their strengths, establish meaningful goals, develop healthy interpersonal skills, and discover positive ways to contribute to the people and communities around them.
